Q. How long does it take to find a tutor?
A. The placement projects can take from 1 to 5 days, depending on the subject
matter and the number of tutor interviews needed. Also, a remote location may
pose some difficulties in finding the right tutor for you needs. But we remain
confident that we can place a tutor to accommodate your needs.
Q. What happens after I find a tutor?>
A. The tutor reviews the teaching style with both the student and parents and reviews the curriculum, textbook, and discusses the 5 steps to getting the best experience from your tutor service. (Class
syllabus and testing dates, homework tasks, Test Prep strategy (teacher, labs,
peers, and tutors), review before exams, review after exams.
After the placement is complete. The type of pre-paid service is confirmed by the Mayan Tutors staff, ie. per session or multi-session discount package. Our packages are pre-paid and all our tutors are compensated immediately so that they remain focus on tutoring instead of payroll.
Q. What if there are no tutors listed for my search criteria?
A. We will make every effort to present you with viable tutor candidates because we
value our customers education. However, at times we will rather not place a
tutor than provide you with inadequate service.
Q. Are there any other fees for signing up to Mayan tutoring?
A. No. We have no registration or hidden costs for using our service. The only other
service that has a fee is an assessment test that can be develop with the help
of the student and parent to determine the strengths and best plan of action
for the tutoring sessions.
Since we take advantage of using checkpay or PayPal, personal checks, money orders as a means to accepting payment and process our internal payroll we pass this savings on to our customers.
The only other charges that we impose are due to fraudulent payments or for not canceling a tutor session before 48 hours. If a session is not cancelled Mayan tutoring will still charge 75% of the session fee.
Also, if we are imposed a bank fee due to checks that are insufficiently funded, we will charge our clients a fee of $35.00, which we will invoice for immediate payment. Since this impacts our services, we may impose that our customers pay through another method to avoid future occurrences.
